The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty, historical and archaeological sites. There is easy access to many of these areas, such as the waterfalls of the Neda and Polilimnio with the canyons that mediate between them, Lake Kaiafa, the Voidokoilia beach, not forgetting the archaeological sites of Ancient Ilidas and Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic games which still strive to bring peace and coexistence to this day. The Epicurean Apollo, which is the second Greek Parthenon (created by the same architect Kalikratis) the artifacts of ancient Ithomi (Messina), many of which still remain in very good condition, the palace of King Nestor and the many exhibits in the museum at Chora, the Dove of the Mycenaean period and the caverns with stalactites and stalagmites, Byzantine and Venetian castles such as those of Navarino Pylos, the Bourtzi of Methoni, Kyparissia and finally the legendary church of Saint Theodora with the 17 trees that grow on its roof.
The area has activity throughout the year and our guests can witness close-up the production and harvesting of watermelons (in summer), the harvest of grapes and production of wine and raki, the harvest of figs or visit the beach where each year thousands of Careta-Careta turtles lay their eggs in the white sparsely populated sands of the Bay of Kyparissia, (laying in spring and hatching in autumn). In the winter there is the Olive picking in preparation for Olive oil production.
Within walking distance of the hotel are picturesque villages to explore, lush valleys for horse riding, trails through wooded areas suitable for walking and described by the European Union as landscapes of unique natural beauty, The area has opportunities for diving in the beautiful depths of the Greek sea, with specialised schools. There are suitable beaches for surfing/windsurfing and other activities, rivers where you can learn and enjoy the thrills of white water rafting and vast golf courses for beginners and professionals. Every Sunday a traditional market trading local farm produce and livestock takes place in the picturesque village of Kopanaki.
On day trips you can visit the island of Zakynthos, the castles of Palamidi in Nafplion, Mycenae and the ancient theatre of Epidaurus, the Byzantine castle of Mystras Sparta, the beautiful paths of the Taygetos mountain, the coastal city of Kalamata or the winter the ski resorts of Kalavrita and Tripoli.
During the summer period there are many cultural activities within our area. Such as: The international theatre festival of Flokas in Ancient Olympia, the international folk dancing festival. This is organized by the Cultural Association of Kyparissia, who invite renowned foreign dance groups to perform traditional and custom dances of their countries in many events throughout our region. The municipality of Kyparissia, hosts its annual cultural summer events with known and established artists (singers, theatre groups, etc.). As you would expect, on the fifteenth of August there are many festivals in several villages with dances and songs in celebration of the Virgin Mary and in September there is a weeklong festival in Kyparissia.
